Rep. Bart Stupak, the Democrat from northern Michigan who won a controversial prohibition against federal funding for abortion in the House’s healthcare bill, says there is no way that he and his allies on the issue will accept the Senate bill lacking a strong restriction.

‘In its present form, the Senate healthcare bill is going nowhere in the House of Representatives,’’ Stupak said Thursday on the Fox Business Network.

But won’t the House have to accept the Senate bill and then approve an additional fix? ‘Certain people say that,’’ Stupak said, voicing a willingness to look at the final package. But ‘no one has yet outlined the process to us about how that is going to be done.’
