Apparently NBC doesn’t really want to promote its own event because the fine folks at that network just told me today that there is, indeed, a way for us here to watch the World Figure Skating Championships live.

If you’re computer-enabled you can go to www.universalsports.com and watch stuff live from Staples Center.

Here’s the schedule, with all times Pacific:

Today: Men’s short program Group 2, on now.

Today: Pairs Free Program, 6:45 p.m.

Thursday: Men’s free skate, 5:35 p.m.

Friday: Women’s short program, group 1, 8:45 a.m.

Friday: Women’s short program, group 2, 1:25 p.m.

Friday: Ice dance, free dance, 6:30 p.m.

Saturday: Women’s free skate, 4 p.m.

On TV the only option is Oxygen network’s delayed telecasts today, Thursday and Friday. On Saturday, it’s NBC’s delayed telecast.
