Commenting on the large pay packages that the CEOs of bailout recipients Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were initially to receive, Frances E. Murphy, of Monterey Park, writes:
One of the most enduring (folk?) tales of the Great Depression is that at least the CEOs of that era had the good grace to leap out of their high rise buildings our of despair and/or guilt when their companies failed.
