Since last month’s oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, BP has been in damage-control mode. The company has also been actively politically, with California candidates among the dozens who have received cash from the embattled oil company since the spill began.

According to numbers from the Center for Responsive Politics, the company has given more than $7,000 since the spill began to Democrats and Republicans who either hold, or are seeking, state office in California.
