TruTV becomes top-10 network with its manly, blue collar twist on reality

What do you call a network that’s part buttoned-up courtroom coverage and part blue-collar, shirt-sleeves reality shows?

Fans don’t seem to care, turning the former Court TV channel into a destination that’s now among the top 10 basic-cable channels. If Jeff Foxworthy had a show on the channel, he’d proudly dub it Redneck TV.

TNT pro basketball analyst Charles Barkley is among the proponents, saying truTV is so outrageous it’s ‘like white BET.’ One of his favorite shows is ‘Lizard Lick Towing,’ about a down-and-dirty, family-owned business where scrapping and cussing are just part of the workday.

With a schedule that already includes ‘Las Vegas Jailhouse,’ ‘Bait Car’ and ‘Hardcore Pawn,’ truTV is adding manly working-class shows including ‘Bear Swamp Recovery,’ ‘South Beach Towing’ and Hulk Hogan’s little people wrestling league.
