Dancing Away? Cloris says goodbye. Kind of.

Rooting for Cloris Leachman to continue on in ‘Dancing With The Stars’ (DWTS) was like rooting for Davidson to get to the Final Four in the NCAA basketball tournament or the Cubs to get to the World Series. It felt good for the heart but you were destined to be disappointed.

Was Cloris funnier playing Mary Tyler Moore’s neighbor Phyllis Lindstrom on ‘The Mary Tyler Moore show’ or Frau Blucher in the Mel Brooks classic ‘Young Frankenstein’? I vote for both.

But even though she said ‘I’m not leaving,’ the 82-year-old Leachman was voted off DWTS on Tuesday night. Probably just as well. Starting next week couples have to learn two new dances each week.

And now Cloris is gone and the competition gets more real. Just a little less fun.

But then I’ve got the DVR running on the newest episode of ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’. And Charles Barkley is back on the TNT post-game show. So there’s a little more fun.
