By the time the Lakers play the Miami Heat tonight at Staples Center, they will be tied with the Charlotte Hornets for the most games played at home at 22.

The Lakers have compiled a 19-2 record at home before taking on the Heat tonight).

Eventually, the Lakers have to venture out on the road for a few long trips. They are 10-4 on the road.

The Lakers still have to play 27 games on the road, although you can almost call their game in which the Clippers host them at Staples Center on Jan. 21 a home game because so many of the fans cheer for the Lakers.

But at the end of this month and heading into February, the Lakers take a six-game, 10-day trip in which they play two sets of back-to-back games.

Then in March, the Lakers take a seven-game, 12-day trip that will also include two sets of back-to-back games.

Those two trips are big and will test the Lakers to see whether they can maintain their high level of play and keep a good record.
