The California State Athletic Commission this afternoon temporarily suspended the boxing licenses of Antonio Margarito and his chief corner man, Javier Capetillo, pending a hearing.

The commission is investigating the hand wraps Margarito used before his bout with Shane Mosley. The plaster-like substance is currently being analyzed, the commission said in a statement.

The hearing is set for Feb. 10. Here is the full statement issued by the CSAC. Stay tuned to latimes.com/sports for Lance Pugmire’s full report on today’s ruling.
