PHOENIX -- Aaron Cunningham hit a two-out, run-scoring single in the bottom of the ninth inning today to give the Oakland Athletics a 5-4 walk-off win over the Angels in Phoenix Municipal Stadium. The hit snapped the Angels’ exhibition win streak at six and dropped the team to 9-2 this spring.

Robb Quinlan, Chone Figgins and Terry Evans each had two hits and an RBI for the Angels. Left-hander Joe Saunders (shown above), still feeling some residual effects from the shoulder tightness that slowed him earlier this spring, allowed two runs -- one earned -- and four hits in three innings, walking one and striking out none.

The Angels got solid relief performances from Darren Oliver and Jose Arredondo, who each allowed one hit in a scoreless inning. Arredondo threw one particularly impressive split-fingered fastball to strike out Cunningham to end the fifth inning.
