MESA, Ariz. -- The Angels, with an 11-3 record that ranks as the best in the American League and the best in the Cactus League, play the Cubs today. The Braves (11-2) are the only major league team with a spring record better than that of the Angels.

Outfielder Gary Matthews Jr. is expected to make his spring debut Sunday. Matthews, coming off knee surgery, was cleared for game action today by Dr. Lewis Yocum.
