Lakers take Beverley in draft

The Lakers, who didn’t have a first-round draft pick, chose Patrick Beverley in the second round with the 43rd pick overall.

Beverley is a 6-foot-1 point guard who played two seasons at Arkansas before playing in Ukraine last season.

Like all second-round picks, Beverley will not get a guaranteed contract.
