Cris Arreola’s impressive sense of humor came shining through Thursday when he weighed in for Saturday’s World Boxing Council heavyweight title fight against Vitali Klitschko at Staples Center.

Under his shirt, Arreola wore a weight-loaded vest onto the scale as a California State Athletic Commission inspector announced the Riverside challenger weighed more than 270 pounds. Arreola laughed, stripped off his shirt and vest and weighed in at 251 pounds -- one pound less than Klitschko.

Here’s the scene on video:

“The thing about it is everyone keeps [complaining] about the weight, so I decided I’m gonna have some fun with it,” Arreola said off the weigh-in stage. “I wanted to make [Klitschko] believe I’m fat, and then show him, ‘You know what? I’m not! I’m in shape!’
