Got winter clothes? Got a pile of cold, hard cash?

Here’s your chance to get tickets for the NHL’s annual Winter Classic outdoor game, to be played by the Philadelphia Flyers and Boston Bruins on New Year’s Day on a temporary rink set up in the middle of Fenway Park. Anyone interested in attending the game can register for an online ticket lottery at www.nhl.com/winterclassictickets until 8:59 a.m. Pacific time on Monday. There’s no registration fee involved.

Those selected in the drawing will be notified by Oct. 20 of their chance to purchase a pair of tickets (seated together). It will cost you: Prices range from $50 to $350 per seat.

Last season’s game, between the Detroit Red Wings and Chicago Blackhawks at Wrigley Field, was a wonderful showcase for the NHL. It was mind-boggling to see a hockey rink plunked down in the middle of the infield, and the players and coaches really got into the spirit of it with scarves and hats and a great amount of enthusiasm. The stylized, old-fashioned uniforms added to the fun. The backdrop of Fenway Park should provide similar interest for this season’s game.
