Monta Ellis, who didn’t play in the fourth quarter, led the Warriors with 24 points.

Kelenna Azubuike added 18 points and Anthony Randolph finished with 16 points and eight rebounds for the Warriors.

THIRD QUARTER

The Warriors got on a roll early in the third quarter and shot out to a 14-point lead before they settled into a 76-68 cushion over the Lakers.

Monta Ellis was a handful for the Lakers, scoring 24 points and handing out eight assists through three quarters.

Kobe Bryant had 15 points, four rebounds and four assists through three quarters, but he also had five fouls, picking up his fifth with 2:03 left in the third.

SECOND QUARTER There was a stretch in the second quarter during which Lakers Coach Phil Jackson played a small backcourt, pairing 6-foot-2 Jordan Farmar with 6-4 Shannon Brown.

The two combined for a highlight play in the second quarter that helped the Lakers pull to within 52-48 of the Golden State Warriors at halftime of an exhibition game tonight at the Forum.

On a fast break, Farmar found Brown on the wing. Brown did the rest, throwing down a double-pump dunk. Farmar had five points and one assist in the second quarter.

One of the more entertaining events that took place in the first quarter was Stephen Jackson and his antics.

Jackson ran his mouth at the referees and Bryant for the entire nine minutes he played in the first quarter.

PREGAME

For the second time in two days, the Lakers are playing the Golden State Warriors in an exhibition game.

The big difference is that the game is at the Forum in Inglewood, a site the Lakers last played a game at during the 1998-99 season.

Lakers Coach Phil Jackson said his plan tonight is to get more of his reserves into the game.

Jackson also wants to see how his starting five plays together and how much improvement they have made.

‘We’ll try and get that first unit comfortable playing together, learning their roles that they have to play in,’ Jackson said. ‘But we will make some adjustments and look at some different players that have gone through training camp with us, give them an opportunity to play.’
