Angels’ Torii Hunter wins 9th Gold Glove

Angels center fielder Torii Hunter today won his ninth consecutive Gold Glove, emblematic of fielding excellence as voted upon by managers and coaches. Hunter’s nine Gold Gloves as an American League outfielder rank tied for third on the all-time list. Ichiro Suzuki, who also won his ninth Gold Glove today, joins Hunter in trailing Ken Griffey Jr. and Al Kaline, each of whom won 10 apiece.
