When asked after practice today about the incident in his community that kept him away from Wednesday’s shoot-around, Kobe Bryant glared at the reporter who dared pose the question.

Bryant refused to answer, instead just staring ahead for five seconds until the next question was asked.

Bryant was unable to attend the practice session Wednesday because of a home invasion robbery Tuesday night in his neighborhood of Newport Coast, which led to a SWAT standoff.

The Times reported that three people were arrested and that two suspects were at large. Four of the suspects, armed with handguns, forced their way into a home in the gated community of Pelican Ridge, according to Newport Beach police.
