The Angels had a six-game losing streak when they took the Fenway Park field for Thursday night’s game, and the Boston Red Sox didn’t do them any favors by starting the finale of a four-game series at 7 p.m. EDT.

The Angels close their 10-game trip with a three-game series in Seattle beginning Friday night. So after Thursday night’s game, they will fly all night, coast to coast, from Boston to Seattle, where they are scheduled to arrive at about 4 a.m. PDT.

The Angels would have preferred to play a day game, and teams often schedule day games on get-away days as a courtesy to the visiting club.

But the Angels, over the years, were notorious for scheduling 7 p.m. starts on get-away days -- they have pushed several of those starts to 4 p.m. this season -- so it’s not surprising that the Red Sox didn’t give them a break.

‘It’s a tough turnaround -- it’s not easy to do,’ catcher Mike Napoli said. ‘You try to get some sleep on the plane and gets as much rest as you can. Then you strap it on tomorrow, drink a Red Bull and get after it.’
