World Cup: Uruguay vs. the Netherlands: Lineups

Battling injuries and suspensions, Uruguay made four changes to its lineup for Tuesday’s World Cup semifinal with the Netherlands in Cape Town, South Africa.

Defenders Martin Caceres and Diego Godin replace injured captain Diego Lugano and the suspended Jorge Fucile from the team that beat Ghana while Alvaro Pereira and Walter Gargano come in to a rebuilt midfield and Edinson Cavani takes up a more advanced role with Luis Suarez out following his red card for a last-minute handball in Uruguay’s quarterfinal win over Ghana.

Also, with Lugano out, forward Diego Forlan gets the captain’s armband.

For the Netherlands, center back Joris Mathijsen returns from injury and Coach Bert van Marwijk has made two changes to cover for suspensions, bringing in Khalid Boulahrouz and Demy de Zeeuw for Gregory van der Wiel and Nigel de Jong.The lineups:
