Oscar Rubio, a 22-year-old Latino, was shot in a gang-related shooting Sunday, April 8, at 10:22 p.m. in the 1200 block of West Pine Street in Santa Ana. Police said they found the victim on a lawn with several gunshot wounds in the chest. No arrests have been made in the case.

Adam Gonzalez, a 16-year-old Latino, was fatally shot in a drive-by shooting while he rode in a car with friends on the 2700 block of South Pacific Avenue in Santa Ana. The shooting took place at 3:30 a.m. on Monday, April 9. Gonzalez was in the car with two other boys, one of whom also was injured. Neither Gonzalez nor his companions are believed to have any gang affiliations. No arrests have been made in the case.

Cecil Atkins, a 49-year-old Anaheim man (no race recorded), was shot with a rifle at 2:20 a.m. on Saturday, April 14 at the Bobby De’s Darts and Hobbies shop in the 400 block of South Brookhurst Street in Anaheim. The owner of the store, 72-year-old Robert Desylvia, has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is being held on $1 million bail. Police sources said Desylvia admitted he shot Atkins but said he did it in self defense.--Garrett Therolf/LAT
