Jerry Mora, 49, a Latino man, was stabbed to death during an argument in the 700 block of East Deloras Drive in Carson about 5 p.m. Saturday, July 5. Mora was taken to a UCLA-Harbor Hospital. Authorities said he was pronounced dead at the hospital.

L.A. County Sheriff officials said Mora was involved in an argument with another Latino man when he was stabbed with a broken beer bottle. Authorities did not say whether the suspect was in custody. Initially detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Harbor Division were investigating the incident, however, the investigation was turned over to sheriff’s homicide detectives after they learned the address, 700 E. Deloras, is on Carson city limit, an area outside of LAPD’s jurisdiction.
