Kyree McCray, 28, a black man, was shot during dispute at a children’s football game at Reseda Recreation Center in Reseda at about 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 23. Initially police reported the mans age as 25, then 40, but the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office said he was 28 years of age.

Deputy Chief Michel Moore of the LAPD’s Operations-Valley Bureau said at a news conference Saturday afternoon that McCray was attending a football game at the park at Reseda and Victory boulevards, when he was involved in an argument with a group of people. Spectators told McCray and the group to leave the game. Shortly after, McCray was shot. Authorities said he was taken to Northridge Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
