Historic South-Central: Man, 41, shot in the head

Lance Ennis, a 41-year-old black man, died when he was shot in the head on Sunday, April 19, 2009, in the 1300 block of East 43 Street in Historic South-Central, according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.

Ennis was leaving his vehicle about 5:45 a.m. when he was shot in the 1300 block of East 43rd Street near Hooper Avenue, Los Angeles Police Lt. George Macias said.

‘It’s unknown at this time if there was gang involvement,’ he said. Ennis was taken to County-USC Medical Center, where he died five hours later.

Homicide detectives with the Newton Community station were investigating the case.
