Edwin Cobbin, a 17-year-old African American, was shot and killed June 8 in the 13300 block of Cordary Avenue in Hawthorne, according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.
Two men in a dark SUV drove up to Cobbin ashe was standing outside of his house, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. The men got out of the vehicleand asked Cobbin where he was from, searched his pockets, then shot him several times, according to the Sheriff’s Department.
The two men got back into the vehicle and drove away, heading north on Cordary Avenue, according to the Sheriff’s Department.
Cobbin was taken to a hospital where he died from his injuries.
