Opinion: Tiger Woods meets Barack Obama in the White House (Gators too)

He threw a football in the East Room, endorsed a national playoff instead of the current bowl system and accepted a Gators’ jersey with ‘Obama’ and the number ‘1.’
But the big sports news of the day is that golfer Tiger Woods stopped by the White House on Monday.
According to the Associated Press, Tiger ‘got a a tour of the White House from Marvin Nicholson, an Obama aide who once caddied at the Augusta golf course, where Woods tied for sixth place in this year’s Masters Tournament.’
Then Obama and Woods -- giants in their fields and believers in excellence, who both crashed through the most historic racial barriers -- smiled for the cameras in the Oval Office.
