Nick Crissman, the UCLA-bound quarterback from Edison, will miss at least two games and probably three, because of an appendectomy on Tuesday night, Coach Dave White said.
Crissman, who passed for more than 3,094 yards and 27 touchdowns a year ago, will be replaced in the lineup by junior Garrett Heckel.
‘He got a lot of reps on Tuesday and a lot of reps today,’ White said of Heckel Wednesday night. ‘I think he’ll do a fine job. He just needs to come in and do his job, and the other 10 guys on offense need to step up.’
Crissman will miss the Chargers’ game Friday against San Clemente at Orange Coast College, and their game against L.A. Jordan. He also may miss the Sept. 20 game against Servite.
