I’m 0-1 predicting results so far this season, but why quit showing my naivety of Inland Empire football now? Each week, I plan to select a handful of games that could justify me sharing a parking lot with hundreds of recently licensed teenagers.

The best game on Thursday appears to be San Bernardino Cajon at Rancho Cucamonga Los Osos at 7 p.m. Los Osos bounced back from a big deficit Friday night to defeat La Puente Bishop Amat, 41-38. Los Osos junior quarterback Richard Brehuat, a returning starter, scored the go-ahead touchdown on a 32-yard with 51 seconds remaining.

Labor Day weekend wasn’t as restful for Cajon.

The Cowboys lost Friday night to Bloomington, 28-13. They actually shut down Bloomington’s wing-T rushing attack, but allowed three touchdown passes to an offensive system that prides itself on not throwing the ball.

Cajon still has junior running back Walter Kazee, a 1,900-yard rusher last season who totaled 154 yards in 15 carries against Bloomington. Add that weapon to Los Osos’ vulnerability against the run last week -- the Cowboys allowed 208 yards in 20 carries and two touchdowns to Bishop Amat running back Marcus Wagner -- and there’s a good chance this game will be settled by a field goal or less.

As usual, I’ll take the team with the more experienced quarterback. I’m guessing Los Osos wins its second in a row, 24-21.
