Hello from beautiful Ventura

Ah, that cool ocean breeze and a barely visible Santa Barbara Island on the hazy horizon must mean I’m in Ventura. Of course, the game tonight between Canyon and St. Bonaventure won’t be as peaceful as the view from atop the grandstands at Ventura High School, but it’ll probably be a thing of beauty as far as football fanatics are concerned.

Will Darrell Scott run amok over Canyon? Will the Cowboys’ offense make a showing after falling flat against a tough Notre Dame defense in the opener? I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.

I’ll be doing my best to keep you on top of all the action here at Turner Field, so be sure to stay close to your computer for the latest information. But I really do feel sorry for you. I’m out here enjoying the beautiful 75-degree weather while you, well, are sitting in front of a computer screen. By the way, those are the JV guys in the photo.
