I’ll bet Rahim Moore didn’t know he had fans in Wisconsin. And I’m positive he has never heard of the town of Oconomowoc, located in Waukesha County, which is about 30 minutes west of Milwaukee.

But the Dorsey safety received an autograph request from Brian Richert, who lives in Oconomowoc and is the high school football and basketball coach at St. John’s Northwestern Military Academy. Richert wrote a letter to Moore’s school, asking for the autograph for his sons Brian, 9, and Brennen, 7.

‘I have family and friends in Los Angeles,’ Richert said by telephone. ‘We were visiting my daughter’s step-grandfather, and he was telling my sons about these great high school football players, especially Rahim. They became fascinated about him. So they asked me if I could get an autographed program. I told them I would try.’

Dorsey Athletic Director Doug Brown, after contacting Richert to make sure the request was legitimate, said the school instead will send Richert’s sons an autographed football and photo of Moore.

‘That’s more than we could have imagined,’ Richert said.
