Pretty wild first half here at Chino Hills vs. Tesoro. I wish I could say I’m shivering from excitement, but it’s actually pretty cold. I forgot that the stadium here at Tesoro is built in a big gully and the wind feels like it’s coming straight off the ocean.

Chino Hills took back the lead in the closing seconds of the first half, 26-20, scoring on a 35-yard touchdown reception by Jordan Gomez after the ball deflected off two Tesoro defenders in the end zone.

Some young boys are playing a mini pick-up football game on asphalt. One just banged his head and called another a dirty word. Mom just escorted them all back to the stands on the Chino Hills’ side. Two were wearing Mission Viejo Cowboys Pop Warner shirts. Are the Diablos expanding their recruiting area? (Just a joke, really, just a joke.)
