Crenshaw Coach Robert Garrett shook up his starting lineup Friday, inserting Clint Floyd at quarterback ahead of incumbent Cameron Hart. And Floyd gave Crenshaw more than just energy.

The 5-foot11, 175-pound senior was a one-man wrecking crew against previously unbeaten Roosevelt. Floyd, who also plays wide receiver and defensive back, unofficially completed six of 13 passes for 150 yards and two touchdowns, including a 70-yard strike to sophomore receiver Geno Hall. Floyd also ran the ball seven times for 147 yards, scoring on 48- and 33-yard scrambles.

Floyd shined on defense, too, returning an intercepted pass 52 yards for a touchdown.

‘He did a superb job,’ Garrett said. ‘I’m real happy for him.’

Garrett didn’t say who would start at quarterback next week against Culver City.

‘We’ll find out in practice,’ he said. You get your job in practice, so we’ll see.’
