From CC Sideline: Centennial is fashionably late

Just took a seat on a cement wall near the south end zone on the Centennial side of the field at Santa Ana Stadium.

As of 5:30 p.m., only Mater Dei has made it here. I’m told Centennial got on the road at 4:45 and is getting close. Coach Matt Logan told me before the Crespi game a couple weeks ago that he doesn’t like to arrive at road games too early, so I’d say the Huskies are right on schedule.

If you’ve never been to Santa Ana Stadium, it sits right on the edge of lovely Orange County Jail (pictured right). You can almost hear the inmates complain about the lockdown from here. I’m pretty sure I parked between two jailers, so I was extra careful not to leave a door ding.

The defensive coordinator from Norte Vista is also hanging out down here. He coached at Centennial for a number of years before leaving in the off-season. He thinks the Centennial AD is going to run him off the sidelines. I’ll keep you posted.

Kickoff is in 75 minutes and still no Centennial.
