....Centennial just stole back some momentum.

That’s good because the noise was evidently affecting the Centennial offensive line. The Huskies had third and four at about the Mater Dei 40, but the center snapped the ball before quarterback Matt Scott was ready and he lost yardage on the scramble.

‘Could you hear the play?’ one offensive lineman asked another. ‘I can’t hear (stuff) out there.’

Centennial forced Mater Dei to punt on its second possession, but the Huskies lost three yards on fourth and one at midfield and Mater Dei drove back inside the Husky 10.

Centennial’s defense stiffened, however, and held the Monarchs to a 24-yard field goal by Patrick Duffy with 2:10 remaining in the opening quarter.

Scott then broke loose on a LONG run to inside the Mater Dei 10, and Ryan Bass scored from two yards with 1:23 left.

The Monarchs are driving again as the quarter winds down.
