Ryan Bass just scored on a long touchdown run to cut Centennial’s deficit to 44-37 early in the fourth quarter, but if Centennial can’t climb all the way out of this hole against Mater Dei, plenty of Inland Empire folks will be talking about the fumbled kickoff that was nullified by off-setting penalities -- after the whistle.

The fumble came after the Huskies had taken a 30-29 lead and had the momentum. But a shoving match broke out after the turnover and flags flew. Centennial Coach Matt Logan almost ran to midfield when it was announced there would be a re-kick.

Mater Dei then scored back-to-back touchdowns to take a 14-point lead.

Centennial’s defense actually looks more gassed right now. They’ve done a lot of chasing on that side of the ball too.
