Mater Dei has won the coin toss and elected to receive.

It’s been a long time since MD was in a No. 1 vs. No. 2 game. Pat Murphy, the school’s principal, says it may have been about 10 years ago, when the Monarchs played Bishop Amat in the section finals. That was the year MD was last ranked No. 1 in the nation.

Eight plays in and MD is in the end zone, Robert Mojica running in from four yards.
