Wirthlin helps Canyon take the lead at halftime

I figured this game would bring out Canyon’s true colors and, so far, the Cowboys are showing fifth-ranked Crespi they’re no pushover.

Immediately after Crespi’s E.J. Woods scored on a one-yard run to tie the score at 7-7, Stephen Wirthlin returned the ensuing kickoff 86 yards. That set up a one-yard TD run several plays later to give Canyon a 14-7 halftime lead.

It will be interesting to see if the Cowboys can continue to stall the Celts’ running game in the second half.
