The need, the need for speed

One of the things that intrigues me most about tonight’s/Friday’s game is seeing the play of San Dimas running back Nico Barbone. A junior, Barbone is one of the state’s rushing leaders. He was leading the SGV going into the weekend with 752 yards and 10 touchdowns. As a sophomore, he rushed for 1,330 yards and had 12 touchdowns.

There’s’ a good story about him in the San Bernardino Sun. Apparently Barbone and Tom Cruise (pictured left, without sunglasses) both share the need, the need for speed.

Barbone is listed at 5 feet 11 and 195 pounds, but he plays bigger than that. He’s certainly a player that will be a key to this game.
