Atascadero’s Nick Tenhaeff wasn’t the only guy in San Luis Obispo County this weekend keeping the competition breathless.

Another speed demon from wine country by the name of Nathan Nelson rushed for a career-high 291 yards and three TDs in 30 carries to propel visiting Paso Robles to a 30-7 victory over Lompoc on Friday.

Of course, with the way his offensive line was tearing open big holes for him to run through, Nelson wasn’t too surprised by his big night. But the PAC-7 League’s (well, PAC-5 in 2005) two-time defending 100-meter dash champion was a little stunned about something else. We’ll get the chance to see Nelson and Tenhaeff square off Nov. 9, when the Bearcats and Greyhounds duel for the league title.
