Diamond Ranch goes from first to worst with forfeits

The SGVT is reporting on its blog that Diamond Ranch (the school is pictured right) has decided to forfeit both of its league victories, 19-0 over Bonita and 28-24 over Los Altos, because it used an ineligible player. That makes the Panthers (3-4, 0-2) and takes them from being tied for first in the Miramonte League to being tied for last.

The league sends its top three teams to the playoffs, so if Diamond Ranch wants to extend its season, it needs to win its next two league games and hope Bonita doesn’t beat Charter Oak or Los Altos.

The Panthers were having a great season, so who knows how this will affect them. Only time will tell, I guess.
