What is it with cold weather and Newbury Park?

The last time I saw Newbury Park play almost two months ago, I thought my fingers were going to fall off it was so cold. Well, it’s not that cold tonight at Dr. Paul A. Priesz Stadium here at Valencia High, but it’s definitely heavy jacket-wearing weather. And it’s cold enough for me to consider going across the street to Ice Station Valencia to thaw out after the game.

Of course, that hasn’t prevented several Newbury Park coaches from wearing shorts out here in the 50-degree conditions.

Oh well, once this Northern Division quarterfinal between the Panthers and Valencia gets under way in about 45 minutes, everybody on the field will forget about the cold.

There’s going to be a lot interesting matchups between these quality teams. Will Valencia QB Gilbert Graham outperform Panthers QB Colby Cameron (pictured)? Or will Newbury Park RB Chris Brown get the best of Valencia’s newest star, Jordan Thompson?

Stay glued to your computer if you want to find out.
