It’s halftime in the Pac-5 Division semifinal between Servite and Crespi, and the Celts are on top, 7-0. That hardly tells how dominant Crespi was in the first half at the Home Depot Center.

Servite managed only one first down in four offensive possessions. Crespi ran and threw the ball effectively. The fact the Friars are down by only one touchdown is about the only positive thing to say. D.J. Shoemate has carried the ball only twice.

A fumble on the five-yard line by Crespi’s E.J. Woods was the only play preventing a first-half rout for the Celts. The rain is coming down, but the field is in good shape. We’ll see if Servite decides to change its strategy in the second half.
