Parking for the Southern Section semifinals Friday was $20 for preferred, $10 for the serfs. ‘Parking for the soccer games is normally $35,’ said the attendant who took my money. Maybe she said $30, I was too stunned to remember. ‘So you really are getting a considerable savings.’

Hear that? You’re getting a considerable savings for forking over $20 for preferred parking. In the rain. And you’re not allowed to bring in umbrellas.

It’s not quite as bad as it was two years ago when I covered X-Games. Parking that weekend was $40.

So, maybe, you really are getting a considerable savings.

I feel much better now. Just had to vent as we near kickoff for the Long Beach Poly-Orange Lutheran game.
