The rout was on here at the Inland Division semifinal between top-seeded Corona Centennial and visiting Chaparral. Then it was off, now it’s back on again.

Centennial scored two touchdowns in the first seven minutes and it didn’t look like the Huskies broke a sweat. Ryan Bass had touchdown runs of one and 10 yards. Man, that kid looks hard to tackle.

Chaparral then got the ball and acted like it knew what to do with it, completing three passes to get into Centennial territory and scoring on a 25-yard pass from Tyler Hansen to David Crall to cut the deficit to 13-7. The Chaparral sideline, where I’m hanging out, was real excited until the Pumas kicked off and Marsel Posey returned it 97 yards for a touchdown, giving the Huskies a 20-7 lead after the first quarter.
That’s a good way to keep Centennial’s defense on the field.

It’s rather cold tonight. I’m guessing it’s in the high 40s, so another night of sideline blogging in extreme temperatures. I hope ya’ll apppreciate it.
