On Thursday I blogged it and I’ll blog it again -- based on the way it played in its Southern California Regional Division III final against Laguna Beach on Tuesday, Harvard-Westlake is the best HS volleyball team I’ve ever seen.

I knew the Wolverines had a really good shot of coming out on top at the state finals against San Francisco Sacred Heart Cathedral Prep and they didn’t disappoint, clinching their first state title since 2001 in a sweeping victory over the Fightin’ Irish.

It’s great to see the 10 seniors on the team earn the state title and push Harvard-Westlake back to the top of the state volleyball world. It might be a little tough for the Wolverines to repeat the feat next season, but who knows? They have a nice crop of underclassmen led by sophomore Megan Norton and they’ll definitely be a divisional force next year.
