Anaheim Esperanza assistant baseball Coach Kevin Clancy has received the District 8 national assistant coach of the year award from the Baseball Coaches Assn. of America.

Clancy, 39, has been an assistant to Mike Curran at Esperanza for six years. He graduated from Esperanza in 1986, when he helped the Aztecs win the Southern Section Division I championship.
