Hart failed in its bid to win a ninth Southern Section division champion with its 42-28 loss to St. Bonaventure in the Northern final today at the Home Depot Center. The Indians also failed to go undefeated.

It just magnifies the old adage that only one team ends its season with a victory/on a positive note.

The Indians, whose only previous blemish was a 21-21 tie with Valencia, finished 12-1-1. St. Bonny is 13-1 with likely one more game to play.

‘It’s never over until it’s over,’ said Hart’s quarterback, B.R. Holbrook, who completed 21 of 40 passes for 284 yards and two touchdowns. ‘I thought we had a chance until it was 0:00.

‘To have a season like we did and finish like we did, it’s kind of a shame.’
