Chino Hills Coach Terry Roche (pictured above) has decided to call it a career, according to the Daily Bulletin.

Roche, 56, who coached at St. John Bosco, Diamond Bar, Ontario and Cowchilla high schools before taking the job at Chino Hills in 2001, walks away with a winning percentage of .715% and a career record of 223-82-7.

‘I’m just getting a little bit older and I’m not as passionate as I’d like to be,’ Roche told the newspaper. ‘I figured it’s time. It’s been a great seven years.’

This is the second time Roche has stepped down. He left Diamond Bar in 2000. Roche guided Diamond Bar to three perfect seasons and four Southern Section titles during the ‘80s and ‘90s.

‘That time I left the door open (for a return),’ Roche said. ‘It’s not open anymore.’

Roche is the only coach Chino Hills has known. He said he would like to be involved with the hiring process of the new coach.
