The phenomena known as the ‘Neuheisel Effect’ continues to plague the minds of many UCLA recruits, including Crespi DB E.J. Woods. The ‘soft’ Bruin commit told Scout.com he will ‘know for a fact’ which school he’ll commit to by Tuesday, even though he doesn’t plan to meet with new Bruin Coach Rick Neuheisel and his staff until later this month.

Woods considers himself ‘wide open’ as far as recruiting goes and has narrowed his primary choices to UCLA, Washington and Colorado. He also said Cal has emerged as a possible candidate and hasn’t ruled out the idea of making a trip to Oregon before national signing day on Feb. 6.

I find it a little strange Woods has set himself a commitment deadline for next week when potential visits are still in the works, but I suppose he can always change his mind again if things don’t work out. Afterall, when you’re a Times’ All-Star honoree, there’s always going to be a collegiate demand for your services.

Woods will be playing in the Under Armour All-America football game on Saturday.
