So you didn’t get a chance to see Hunter Steffien of St. Margaret’s this fall? Then we have an all-star football game for you.

The inaugural Navy Marine Corps All-Star Classic, also referred to as the Southern California Bowl, will be played Saturday, Jan. 26, at Cal State Fullerton. No, there won’t be any players from the L.A. City Section, or the San Fernando Valley, or anyone from a particular Long Beach team that wears green and gold and has a tendency to be very quick.

This latest all-star game pits seniors from Orange, San Diego and Imperial counties against a group from Riverside and San Bernardino counties. The OC/SD/I group will represent the Navy Coastal team (try explaining that to anyone who’ knows where Imperial County is) and the Riverside group will represent the Marine team.

Just imagine, Corona Centennial’s Ryan Bass and Redlands East Valley’s Chris Polk on the same team. Maybe even the same backfield. Oh ... my ... gosh.

Bass and Polk ... and Steffien, the small-school standout running back and linebacker whose team has a 28-game winning streak against other small-school competition ... are among those who have been invited to participate in the game.

Presented by the Fight On Foundation, tickets are $25 online or $30 at the gate, which seems kind of pricey. My guess is that anyone who plops down the green will have plenty of leg room in the stands, especially since the game will be broadcast on ESPN2. But there will definitely be some talented guys on the field if those who are invited show up.

Game time is 1:15 p.m.
