I’m sure opposing defenders would appreciate Kara-Leigh Huse resting for a game every once in awhile. Not that she’s willing to oblige. Scoring is too much fun.

Huse, the top scorer for the La Salle girls’ water polo team, netted a season-high nine goals in the Lancers’ 11-5 win over South Pasadena on Thursday. So what did she do for an encore? How about seven more goals and five steals in a 17-2 rout of Webb on Friday. No, this girl doesn’t take vacation days.

La Salle’s USC-bound senior is not only the school’s career scoring leader (she had 148 goals last season alone) and a two-time Prep League MVP, but she’s also the player around whom the program has centered since it was started her freshman year.

La Salle (14-4 overall, 6-0 in league) is ranked No. 8 in Division IV in the Southern Section coaches’ poll and as long as their star is in the pool the Lancers should make waves in the postseason.
