Football props for Gahr coach and Poly linebacker

The Press-Telegram dished out some football props of 2007, honoring Gahr’s Greg Marshall as its coach of the year and Long Beach Poly defensive lineman, Jurrell Casey, as player of the year.

Marshall led the Gladiators to the Western Division semifinals. Not too shabby, considering they previously had failed to reach the playoffs for 14 consecutive years.

Meanwhile, Casey, at 6 feet 4 and 245 pounds, racked up seven sacks and a mind-jarring 134 tackles, 91 of the solo variety, and he was one HUGE reason why the Jackrabbits’ had a 13-1 record and a Southern Section Pac-5 championship.

Great job, Coach Marshall and Jurrell.
